Good picks! I would add congee and dry-fried beef hi fun to the list. Finally Yin Yang is half tea/half coffee. Milk tea is, just milk tea. And Hong Kong has the best milk tea in the world!

Thank you for your interesting and informative artiical. As a flight attendant with a major American airline I have been flying to Hong Kong at least three times a month for the last five years. Obviously, I’ve seen much of Hong Kong but, without a doubt, Sham Shui Po is my favorite part. It doesn’t feel touristy like so many other places can be. It’s chaotic, crowded and multicutural. I can get a delicious meal far cheaper at my favorite ‘joint’ and a five vegetable juice is made fresh for me right there on the street corner. And you are so right – the architecture is fascinating and I’ll be checking out some of the buildings you mentioned. I could just go on and on…….Anyway – I’ll be there next week. See you on Apliu Street!!
